Yankee Bokou ni Kaeru / ヤンキー母校に帰る

Based on a true story of a Hokkaido High School that was the first in Japan to actively accept drop outs and misfits and give them a second chance. The series follows a former gang member, drop out and graduate of the school as he returns to teach there and help the students graduate.

Free legal Japanese music : 8tracks

So if you are anything like me you love Japanese music and music in general but don’t really have enough money to pay for all the music you listen to and feel a bit bad when you just download it. Because of this I’ll be starting a new mini series called “Free legal Japanese music” where you can find out where to listen to Japanese music free and legally. If it goes well I may extend it to other areas such as Movies and Anime.

First in the mini Series is 8tracks.

8tracks is a simple way for people to share and discover music through an online mix.

Fatblueman

Fatblueman are a self proclaimed Gaijin-pop band from Nagoya, Japan. The band consists of Three Gaijin and two Japanese members. Their music kind of has a country vibe to it (not sure if it is because I don’t really listen to much country or any come to think of it^^)

GReeeeN

GReeeeN are J-pop band I have been a fan of for sometime, their music is more on the rock side of J-pop not heavy but certainly not poppy like Arashi. The group is made up of Hide, Navi, 92 and soh all of which have studied dentistry at Ohu University of Fukushima pretty weird history for a pop group if you ask me.

Creating your own Japanese TV channel

This tutorial is mainly for PC users. I don’t own a Mac ): so I have no idea if this works or not. I imagine it will but you might have to search around for some other programs that are for Mac.

So if you are using the same method of learning Japanese as I am,  All Japanese All the Time, you will need to completely immerse yourself in Japanese. Even if you are not following the same method doing this helps tremendously. Now there are plenty of ways to do this such as always listening to podcasts, music or watching anime and J-drama. But these get stale pretty quickly especially when you don’t fancy sitting through a 20 minute episode of anime or 45 minute episode of J-drama. To combat this you can create your own Japanese TV station that will show small 3-5 minute clips that will keep your attention without drawing you in too much or boring you to death.

Oh I see you have landed on my site. This site is where I plan to take over the world. Not really I’m far too busy looking at LOLCAT pictures to do that. Instead this is a site where I write about whats on my mind which is usually something to do with Japan, music, web design or something design based.
